Georgia is the first state in the union to back away from the registry and enact legislation based in reason and fact. HB 571 passed the House on a vote of 163 - 1. Today, 21 April 2010, the Georgia Senate approved the bill by a vote of 45 - 0. The law represents evidence based legislaton and shows that efforts to enact law based in truth and fact rather than myth and hyperbole is possible.
Kudos to the Southern Center for Human Rights and everyone who worked so hard to make this a reality.
